I Am Rich With Simple Treasures

Have you ever just sat there on a calm peaceful day and out of nowhere comes a gust of wind that scatters all that is around you?

That is what my 2010 has felt like, a tornado that came around the corner to ignite my senses and remind me that I am alive.  This year will be full of adventures to learn and grow from.   Let me rephrase that, this year HAS been full of adventures already.

Here I sit on my deck looking out at the water.  Staring at the water has just reminded me not to get caught up with one of the most critical errors we humans seem to fall for.

Lake House Deck

While we chase this thing called life, we lose sight of the beauty that is right in front of us.  The little things that make us take a genuine deep breath and make our hearts smile from the inside out.

I feel alive more so for the insight, that I am fortunate to posses the purest of gifts in life. The people that cross my path, family, my precious niece and nephew, true genuine friends that I can rely on, clients that go out of their way to help me grow my business and support and trust my overall vision in life, the new people in my life, in the Okanagan, that I have been fortunate to grow to love.

I am rich with simple treasures in my life.

What I have come to realize is that we all have our own simple treasures.  It is up to us if we have the courage to look beyond the clutter of life and honor this gift that revolves around us, the gift of simple treasures.

I ask you this – Do share – what are your simple treasures?

Fred you have a great view!

    You are so right.

It is hard to see the treasures in our lives when we are constantly distracted and busy. Simple is easier on the mind, body and soul.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Fred, we all are rich with “Simple Treasures’, however, in this fast paced world we live in – we all to often forget! A society who now relies on technolgy to communicate, a society who at times forgets how a kind word, a smile can impact someones life…and our own!
Take time to make the lives of other better, in turn it will make our own so much better -I beleive that! You continue to teach me to be strong, to have faith to know that someday my emptiness will be filled. I recently was blessed with time in Northern Sask, where I grew up – I watched the stars dance across the sky – enjoying the peacefulness!

Rose, I read what you wrote a few time – your words are beautiful.

You are so right, this world of efficiency we have created comes at a price if we are not aware of every moment. the price of loosing sight of the most precious moments in our lives. The small moments that make our day and in turn others. We give up so much of the precious moments in our lives in order to pound our chest to other with task-filled accomplishments.

Rose, never let your heart stop smiling. :)

  3. Hi Fred,

Very inspirational insights, for such a young man you are very wise.

We do forget at time simple treasures in life. I have two beautiful children who I remind always that my love for them is unconditional, that is a mother’s love. I am rich because of them. They ask why and my reply is “I would never sell them or give them up for all the money in the world! That’s what makes me rich! They are worth more than billions of dollars and I have these valuable treasures I call my children”.

Thank you for the reminder, Fred!

Teresa, thank you for the compliment. :)

What a beautiful thing to posses and share.- unconditional love.

I am so excited to go see my niece and nephew in a week. The fact that I do tell them I am willing to sell them off if they do not massage my feet and bring me food – does that mean I need to re-evaluate my unconditional love for them? he he

Teresa, makes me smile that you enjoy those moments with your children. That is exactly what this world needs more of.

Life is busy, full of events that ,at times, makes us forget all that truly matters.
Small, simple treasures for me….waking up next to someone I truly love.Having my kids wake up……grumpy, happy or still tired, just having them. Having my dog come to me wagging her tail.
Friends. They mean everything. Family…drive us nuts, but where would we be without them?
I could go on and on and on……
    Miss you Fred.Our runs,our conversations.

    • fredsarkari says:

Sandra – are those not the special moments in our lives. We will always have the clutter – the lesson you have just reminded me of is that we need make sure we do not lose sight of all those precious moments with the clutter.

the brightness in your day just brightened up mine. :)

    Fred,

I am applying your life principles and very similarly a “Live Simply Do Business Simply” concept in my business from http://www.GreenBusinessGroup.ORG

I am a happier person in life and a more successful business woman using the Green Business Group principles in my businesses.

All I can say is Thanks to both of you.
