Would really appreciate if you would take the time to help.
I am looking for a catchy name for a presentation course.
The main Modules in the course are:
1. Building your presentation
2. Preparation
3. Presenting
4. Post Presentation
Consisting of 25 chapters.
Therefore, it will cover all spectrums from working with the organizer of the sessions to the psychology of presenting right down to what needs to be done after the presentation is over.
——————————-
Main element of the workshop is to help build and refine peoples speaking skills.
——————————-
The course will be split into 2 segments:
- Small part theory.
- Main part, hands on practice.
I am looking for brain storming ideas. So anything that comes to mind I would appreciate it if you posted. This way it could ignite others ideas.
Thank you for taking the time to give your opinion.

Presenting with Impact and Influence
Influencing with Impact
Selling Yourself by leaving an impact
Thanks Kent,
I had “leaving a lasting impression” as a sub-title.
Nice to know see it on the list.
Thanks
I truly appreciate all the comments I am getting in my email inbox.
It would be great if people can post their comments here instead as it will help others ignite further ideas.
thanks
Hey Fred, great idea. When do you think it will be ready? I’d love to hone my skills from a guy like you.
Title ideas…
-”Presenting for Presenters”
-”Coming Full Circle: A Presenters Guide to the Craft of Public Speaking”
-”Boxers or Briefs? Tricks of the Public Speaking Trade” (this goes with the whole, imagine them in their underwear thing)
-”Freddie’s Secret. Tricks of the Public Speaking Trade.” (a spoof off of Victoria’s Secret – again going with the whole idea of imagining the crowd in their underwear)
-”I’d rather die!”: How to overcome the fear of public speaking” (going along the lines that people would choose death over speaking in public.
that’s it for now – but it’s a start anyway.
Later,
Derrick.
Derrick, that is awesome.
I like the ideas, definitely something I can work with.
The course is done, just waiting for a title to hit me and finishing the cover design of the workbook.
Thanks for your time.
Hello Fred,
Glad to help. How about:
“The show must go on: preparing an effective an effective and flexible presentation.”
Thanks Phillipe,
I like the “the show must go on…”
Has a fun twist to it.
thanks
The four presentation languages
Thanks Frank,
I have a section in the workbook about speaking to different personalities – Your title ignited a great idea for a potential chapter sub-title.
Thanks
Triple P : Planning, Preparation, and Presentation.
(or any other p words you prefer).
Sub-title: Everything you need to know to give presentations like the pros.
(Again I am reminded – If only I had Derrick’s creativity!)
Thanks Kelsi, It seems like we all dream of having Derricks creativity.
Again, another great idea for a sub title.
thanks
Hi Fred
Ok off the top of my head.
1.Hit the Ground Running, inspiring your audience to their feet.
2.Present to impress.
3.All eyes are on me, hanging on to my every word.
4.Can you see what I’m saying.
5. Inspirational words that leave a lasting impression.
I may have more as my sub conscience is working on it now.
Terry
That is awesome Terry, thank you for taking the time.
Cant wait to read what your sub-conscious mind has to say.
Hi Fred,
few ideas: mix and match:)
Stand up, speak out! ~ Your presentation skills at their best!
Public Speaking made by You! (or maybe ‘improved by you’)
Speak, so people will want to listen ~ improve your presentation skills
Improve your Presentation Skills from Start to Finish
Shari, that is awesome.
Thanks so much.
I like “Speak, so people will want to listen.”
Thanks
Ok, off the top of my head.
Better Presenting: Streamlining the Message
Make Your Message Heard
Presenting The Right Way
The Easy Road to Presenting
Wow, at times you’re silent for weeks on end and then inspired to post daily!
Again, not sure if you are the facilitator, and don’t have a sense of who your audience is, but to play on words from your blog name – my suggestions for your course:
- Presenting from the Sidewalk
- Speaking from the Sidewalk
It would be a great tie-in to your work if you kept it tied to your blog name i.e. Mental Sidewalk or titles of your books etc…
Good luck.
Hello my addicted friend.
Yes I have been made fun of countless times now for periodically posting and now my fingers are glued to my blog.
I will be consistently posting from now on. I thank you for always being there to read and taking the time to comment.
To answer your question, this course is a stand alone course that does not have a particular audience. It is when clients call regarding a course on presentations. At that point in time it would be customized to suite the audience.
It never at any point occurred to me to tie it into the blog name. I will for sure put some thought into that.
Now off I go for my morning self-teach swim lesson.
Flipper signing off.
Public speaking 101
How to present to 1 or 100 people.
Fred not sure if this is how you post on a blog, but I decided to try after I read your column on the 51 one yr old training for the triathalon.
Rod, that is amazing. I got a great chuckle from your comment.
Good for you for giving it a shot.
I like the “public Speaking 101″ its to the point.
Thanks Rod, hope to see you back on the blog.
There is a song I like called “Chasing Pavements”. Title of song also partners well with Mental Sidewalk site name. Chasing the Dream/Chasing Pavements and searching/walking that path looking for your personal awareness and overcoming any fear in life whether it be public speaking or not. Not sure if you like but wanted to throw it your way. Have a good weekend, K-Nice
Steve, that is awesome. I like the left wing thinking.
Will have to put some thought into seeing if I can connect that somehow.
thanks
what about….
Speaking with eloquence to leave a lasting impression
Thanks Holly,
I am starting to like the “lasting Impression. I had that in my sub- title as an option. You are the 2nd person that wrote that. Thats great to hear.
thanks

Hi fred
thats a great topic and would be very helpful to a lot of people. right from the fresher joining in to the chairman.
some names could be
the dynamics of presentation
how to deliver the winning presentation
the a b c of presentation
Hello Farhad, I take it the weather is a lot warmer in India than it is here in Canada? ha ha
That is exactly what this workbook and course will be. Ir-relevant of where you are starting from, you would grow from there.
I really like the “Dynamics of Presentation”
Thanks
Here are my suggestions:
How to Not Suck at Presentations (A little edgey)
Present With Power (A littleTony Robbins)
Why Most Presentations Suck (Title)
-And what to do about it (Subtitle)
That’s all for me. If the title doesn’t smack me and wake me up I probably won’t pay attention to it. At least that my humble opinion.
Good luck.
Scott
Scott, you have hit the nail on the head. When it comes to titles you have a fraction of a second to catch ones attention.
I like the “why most presenters suck” for a chapter title.
thanks
So… have you decided what you’re going to title your workshop? You’ve been given ample ideas and suggestions; so now we await the unveiling (or presentation – love the pun) of the name!
Darlene, that is awesome.
Simple but effective – thanks
Thanks for taking the time
Hello my phone addict, hope you had a great Easter
I was going to post the name tomorrow once I go through all the suggestions again later today.
In the mean time go eat some Easter eggs.
